Itinerary

Day 1 | Nairobi – Mara North Conservancy

You start the first day of your Masai Mara fly-in safari filled with excitement for the adventure that lies ahead. Around 10 am you will be met at your hotel in Nairobi and brought to Wilson Airport for your flight to the Mara North Conservancy. On a cloudless day, during your short 45-minute flight, you can watch as the landscape changes below you. The Mara North is a private conservancy, forming a part of the Greater Mara Ecosystem. The area boasts phenomenal wildlife and due to the fact that the conservancy strictly controls the vehicle density in the region, you are set to have an exclusive safari experience during your stay. On your way to the Elephant Pepper Camp, you will already receive your first taste of the game viewing the region has to offer. Located in the valley of the Mara North Conservancy, with vast views of the plains ahead, the Elephant Pepper Camp will be your home for the following three nights. Lunch will be served at the camp and in the afternoon, you will embark on your first proper game drive. At sunset, you return to your camp and enjoy a delicious three course meal. Welcome to the bush – your adventure has begun! Lunch | Dinner

Day 2 | Mara North Conservancy

Awake in the early morning hours and head out for a game drive with the rising sun. Many animals are most active at dawn and you will want to make the most of your awesome location. The area is famed for its many predators – lions, leopards, cheetahs, and hyenas are spotted more commonly than in many other regions. They prey on the zebra, buffalo, wildebeest, impala, and eland found nearby. Breakfast will be a picnic in the great outdoors, before heading back to your camp at noon. Here you will have a chance to sit back, relax and enjoy the serenity of your surroundings. In the afternoon, another game drive gets underway and perhaps you spot some of the animals you missed earlier on. Then, as the sun begins to set over the savannah, you enjoy a sundowner drink and slowly return to your camp for another fantastic dinner. Your second night on your Masai Mara fly-in safari.Breakfast | Lunch | Dinner

Day 3 | Masai Mara Game Reserve

On safari, no day is like the other – you never can tell what awaits you. To make the most of the day, a hearty breakfast is served at camp before you depart on a full day’s game drive in the Masai Mara Game Reserve. You will cover wide, open grasslands, dotted with acacia trees along the way. Your safari guide is skilled and experienced and will help you spot animals which might otherwise have gone unnoticed. There is no rush today, so observe the behaviour of the various animals you encounter and learn more about the natural world. A picnic lunch will be provided, and in the afternoon, you return to your camp. Here you enjoy the evening by sitting by the campfire, with a starry night sky above you and the sounds of the African bush around you.Breakfast | Lunch | Dinner

Day 4 | Mara North Conservancy – Nairobi

For those whose thirst for adventure is not yet quenched, a morning bush walk, escorted by a local guide is offered. A wonderful way to stretch your legs and immerse yourself in nature. After a relaxed breakfast, it is time to say your good-byes. You will be brought to the Mara North airstrip and fly back to Nairobi, enriched with new experiences and unforgettable memories. Your Masai Mara fly-in safari has come to an end. We hope to see you soon!Breakfast

  • In general, East Africa poses no higher health risks than many other destinations. Please consult your GP or a tropical disease institute regarding appropriate vaccinations etc. before your departure. For your own safety please inform us about any intolerances or allergies you may have against any medications or of any medical conditions (e.g. high blood pressure, epilepsy, asthma, heart conditions, etc.) when you book your trip. Please also inform your guide before the start of the tour.
  • In theory, there is a possibility of contracting malaria in all East African countries. Malaria is caused by one-cell parasites and transmitted by Anopheles mosquitoes. Different medications can offer a prophylaxis but some need to be taken before you start travelling. You should consult your GP or the institute for tropical diseases to get medical advice. Our experience suggests that medications which have been on the market for some time (e.g. Lariam) can lead to severe side effects and therefore may compromise your trip.
  • Prevention is always better than cure; the best prevention is not to get bitten by wearing long trousers, socks, closed shoes and long-sleeved tops during the evening hours. The use of anti-mosquito sprays and creams can further help to reduce the risk of being bitten.
