Kenya offers world-class places to stay during safaris and beach getaways.
When booking with us, one of our country experts will help you choose the accommodation that suits you and fits within your budget.
During a safari, you can choose a lodge safari to stay in well-crafted lodges or permanent tented camps with all modern comforts. Both options offer warm hospitality and a close proximity to nature in stunning settings.
Alternatively, for a more luxurious experience, you can opt for a luxury safari.
At the coast, you can stay in beachside hotels, beach spas and guest houses, allowing you to fall asleep to the sound of waves crashing on the beach.
We recommend and book all accommodation as part of your Kenya safari and beach package.
What can you expect on a Kenya safari and beach holiday?
What can you expect on a safari in Kenya?
Your experience begins with the booking process. It’s helpful to start by reading our guides on the best time to visit, where to go, and what to do. Alternatively, you can read one of our itineraries.
You can schedule a no-obligation conversation with one of our country experts. They will create a well-organised safari, leaving you to look forward to the experience.
Kenyan safaris differ from those in southern Africa. Instead of choosing a self-driving safari, we recommend opting for a guided safari with experienced guides who can deal with unique driving styles, uneven roads, and navigating large parks devoid of signage.
You can choose a private or group safari. Selecting a group safari allows you to share your experience with like-minded people and enjoy a window seat, as groups are limited to seven people. Private experiences are perfect for a honeymoon, birdwatching, or photography safari, as you can choose your dates, destinations, and companions.
Regardless of your choice, expect to travel with our expert guides in our Toyota Land Cruisers. Booking at least six months in advance is advisable, especially for popular wildebeest migration safaris.
Upon your arrival in Kenya, your guide will meet you, and your adventure will begin. In Kenya’s parks, they will seek out the wildlife on your bucket list and unveil the secrets of nature during early morning and late afternoon game drives when the wildlife is most active. Thanks to a high density of wildlife, you will see the big five and much more.
Finally, you can look forward to staying in exceptional accommodations in remote wilderness areas while enjoying outstanding hospitality and delicious cuisine.
What can I expect on a Diani Beach holiday?
On the final day of your safari, we take you to your beachside accommodation at Diani Beach. This will be your chance to soak up the tropical atmosphere, relax in style, and enjoy numerous activities.
Diani Beach is 17km long, with pristine sand, turquoise waters, and abundant coral reefs in several marine parks. It provides the ideal balance between relaxation and exciting activities.
You can relax in the pool, then stroll down the extensive beach to find a beachside bar or restaurant nestled in the palm groves to enjoy a cocktail, freshly cooked Red Snapper, or delicious giant crabs. Walk back to your hotel hand in hand while watching traditional dhow boats fishing out at sea.
For the energetic, there is plenty to choose from.
Thrill seekers can enjoy kite surfing, a now popular sport along the coastline. Alternatively, Shimoni, a short distance south, is a historic town and the starting point for deep-sea fishing in the Pemba Channel and exploring Wasini Island, which offers exceptional diving and snorkelling.
Ten kilometres further out to sea, the Mpunguti Marine National Park offers yet more incredible underwater adventures.
If you haven’t had your fix of wildlife spotting, you can enjoy a guided trek to Sheldrick Falls in Shimba Hills National Reserve.
Alternatively, you can be led by a local guide through Kaya Kinondo Sacred Forest, an ancient forest protected and revered by local people as a spiritually significant forest for over 600 years.
Let us include Diani Beach at the end of your Kenya safari to complete your once-in-a-lifetime experience.
How can I combine a Kenya safari and a beach getaway?
Combining a safari and a beach retreat is easy when you book with us at Kenya-Experience.
Our passion comes from living and working in Kenya, which gives us an intimate knowledge of the best places to visit. Moreover, planning and delivering Kenya safari and beach holidays is easy, thanks to having our own guides, safari vehicles, and country experts.
Kenya’s capital, Nairobi, is the best starting point to combine a northern and southern safari, which concludes at the beach.
Most guests prefer this option, but you can start from Mombasa if you wish.
Southern Safaris in Kenya
Explore Kenya’s most well-known parks in the south. The Masai Mara National Reserve is spectacular, with a high concentration of wildlife, creating incredible game viewing.
Amboseli National Park, next on the itinerary, is famous for its herds of elephants and dramatic views of Mount Kilimanjaro.
Continue east to Tsavo West National Park, where landscapes are the highlight, but fantastic game viewing can be enjoyed along the Tsavo River. Your safari through the wild ends at Diani Beach.
Northern Safaris in Kenya
Enhance your Kenya safari and beach package by adding a northern safari to the beginning of your itinerary.
The north is home to private conservancies, such as Lewa Wildlife Conservancy, Ol Pejeta Conservancy, and Solio Game Reserve. Established in the 1980s, these conservancies have high concentrations of wildlife, including many endangered species.
They are unique because they fund conservation and community projects thanks to tourism. Moreover, they protect the ecosystem by limiting visitor numbers, which creates intimate safaris even during the high season.
Further north, remote yet beautiful parks are home to unique species adapted to the semi-arid climate, including the Northern Five, which you can learn about in our wildlife guide.
Samburu National Reserve, and Meru National Park are superb destinations with fewer visitors than in the southern parks. You can also enjoy a one-day trek in Mount Kenya National Park, a World Heritage Site home to breathtaking landscapes and unique species of plants, birds, and animals.
The Swahili coast in Kenya
Diani Beach is the perfect destination to conclude a safari. It is conveniently located 35 kilometres south of Mombasa International Airport, allowing for a short drive before your flight home.
The north coast is an alternative option and is home to beautiful beaches and multiple marine parks with stunning coral gardens.
Contact a country expert for a no-obligation conversation to discuss some of these options for your personalised Kenya safari and beach holiday. We look forward to welcoming you to Kenya.
We had a perfectly organized fantastic trip. In the first part we visited the national parks Nakuru, Massai Mara, Amboseli and Tsavo West. The second part was beach vacation in Diani Beach. We had great wildlife sightings, including the Big Five, and many encounters with friendly and helpful Kenyans.Monika & Jochen | Kenya safari and beach holiday
